About N7QOB
I was first licensed in 1992 and have been active in different areas of the hobby ever since. My grandfather was licensed as W7MS (sk) and my uncle is still active as KG7IL. It was my uncle that really introduced me to the amateur radio hobby and helped me to originally get my license and develop my interested in Radio, Computers, Electronics, Woodworking, Shooting and Photography..
I've been getting back into CW slowly and working to get my code speed back up. I also enjoy playing with digital modes, PSK31, APRS and Winlink. Currently I'm active with both Eastside Fire & Rescue SSV (Service Support Volunteer) and the City of Sammamish ARES/RACES Group providing Emergency Communications to each served agency. I am running an active 9600 UHF APRS station with digipeater and Inet Gateway support on 440.800 on the Sammamish Plateau. You can usually find me hanging out on 443.325(r) or 442.300(r) in the Seattle area.
Professionally, I have over 13 years of experience Managing Production Network Systems, Telecommunications teams and IT Infrastracture. At the end of 2008, I left Who's Calling, Inc. in Kirkland, WA as the Director of IT & Network Operations after a company purchase and 2 year systems transition. I moved directly to a small startup medical device company, NeuroVista and spent 14 months with them significantly improving their internal IT infrastracture, developing and defining processes and improving their overall IT service offering. As a result of a recent layoff due to the financial economy, I find myself looking for my next opportunity. I am actively looking for new Opportunities in IT and my resume can be viewed online at http://resume.ivotion.com
